Visma IT & Communications is looking for a passionate Technical QA.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
QA engineer responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)
The QA technician role plays an important part in our department’s product development process. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting tests before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs, while being cost-effective. If you hold an engineering background and enjoy providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems, we’d like to meet you.
You will be a member of VITC Internal Development team, where your skills and contributions to manage our internal billing development will be very visible. You must love to help team members and to receive help from them. The team is international so you will use English both written and orally.
About the team
Internal Development team is the software part of Visma IT and we strive to be the best place to work in Visma. Code quality software happens as a result of consistent and passionate focus by the software implementation team to meet quality goals. Our team is dedicated towards delivering high quality code every day using latest technologies and principles like Clean Code, SOLID principles, Clean Architecture, TDD.
Some feedback from our team members:
“I've been working for almost a year now as a member of this team and all I can say is that it's a very competitive environment, highly skilled people, there's a continuous desire for improvement, nothing is imposed, but self driven. It's great to be part of it!” (A.D.)
“I have some interesting words that made me come in this team and maybe they will make you come here too: design patterns, best practices, clean code and everyone will take your point into consideration.
At the beginning it looked overwhelming for me due to the architecture of their projects, a lot of small projects communicating between them and creating one big billing process. Once I took a closer look I was amazed by how easy was to understand every importer, micro-service and other parts here because of the best practices used and clean code written by them.
Everyone is always willing to help when you have a question or impediment in your work because this team knows that knowledge builds faster with a little help from the more experienced ones.” (B.H.)
“In this team we are trying to use the best practices in software engineering.
For developing we are using as reference The Clean Architecture, described by Robert C. Martin (Uncle Bob) together with his other books. The team is a dynamic team that is striving to get better every day. We are doing this by having code reviews after each development, by having boy's scout approach when we dig into every piece of code. We are always willing to help one another in order to level the knowledge each team member has. Improvement is always encouraged and is debated with valid arguments before taking any decision.
If the descriptions above fit you, and you can check several of the following bullets, Visma IT & Communications can offer you a very interesting work and competitive terms.” (M.R.)
“This team is the perfect place for anyone who likes challenges, learning new things, being up to date with software practices and knowledge in the field, growing and aiming to reach the best standards technically speaking. The team has all sorts of people, from less to well experienced developers and we learn from each other constantly.” (L.T.)
