About the job

Visma IT & Communications is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Architect to strengthen its Architecture and IT development functions

You will support the organisation by engaging with other Architects, System Managers, domain experts, and support them with your broad understanding of technology, ranging from bare metal infrastructure, compute, networking, virtualisation and public cloud.

You will engage with steering group committees and management team to advise on technology choices and their business impact.

As part of the Architecture board, you will help the organisation in defining requirements, principles and guidelines that enable us to build solutions that meet business needs.

You will apply strong communication skills, diplomacy, relationship building and problem solving skills, when engaging across all departments in the organisation.

By demonstrating a pragmatic and solution oriented approach, you will help the organisation in overcoming challenges.


Your skills:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)


  • Bachelor degree  in computer science or a related field and a minimum of 8 years professional experience

  • Broad understanding of technology ranging from Storage, Network, Compute, cloud computing etc with a specialisation in at least one area

  • Ability to gather and document stakeholder requirements and deliver innovative solutions that meet and exceed those requirements 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and business people alike

  • Good presentation skills and comfortable working with highly demanding stakeholders

  • When faced with incomplete information and complex problems, you demonstrate a pragmatic and solution oriented approach

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to write business cases and create technical documentation

  • Willing to adapt to change, alteration in work activities and ability to decide and act on limited information, balancing risk and benefit for the business

  • Experience with Togaf and modelling in Archimate 


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Experience & Skills)


  • M.Sc computer science or a related field and 10 years or more of professional experience 

  • Certifications in Togaf, Archimate, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc 

  • Hands on experience with Architecture tooling

  • Experience with Architecture governance in Architecture Boards 

  • Experience in Architecting for public cloud environments

  • Knowledge of network technologies and DataCenter technologies

  • Hands on experience in compute and virtualization (VMware, Citrix, etc)

  • Experience in the use of agile and iterative methodologies 

  • Familiar with Confluence and Jira as day to day working tools



  • Lead design and review of new systems and pro-active roadmap building together with the System managers

  • Gather and develop business and functional requirements from internal and external stakeholders

  • Evaluate existing systems against business requirements and propose concrete suggestions for the future

  • Support the organisation in large scale IT onboardings of acquired companies, ensuring that business needs for swift onboarding and risk are understood and balanced

  • Working in the Architecture board, reviewing and improving Solution Designs

  • Actively building and furthering the Architecture capability

  • Travel to the HQ in Oslo several times per year
