National PR & Communication Manager

Do your stories always end well?

All brand stories are unique. But some brand stories are more unique than others. Visma also wants to tell a unique brand story. The good news is that we can do just that, for instance our on co-creation with customers that we help to work smarter. Or together with the successful cycling and skating teams that we sponsor. Yet there is still a world to be won, because although our name recognition is growing with every podium place, we are not yet at # 1 in the consideration set in all companies and governments. Will you help us to reach that position?

What does the vacancy entail?

As our National PR & Communication Manager, you want Visma to become the synonym for innovative cloud software solutions that really help companies and governments. To realize that ambition, you have Oscar-worthy control over all PR and internal communication processes. What do we want to tell to whom? How do we claim thought leadership within domains or market segments? Which online and offline stages do we want to shine on? And how do you ensure that we are invited on to those stages? 

It is up to you to take our PR strategy to the next level. By mobilizing your existing media network and opening new contacts for example. It is important that you make strategic choices; visibility is great, but visibility at the right time and place is even better. Although you are the undisputed PR master, you are not on your own. You like to work closely with our Country Director and branding colleagues, and the  business itself. To successfully align our stories for instance. We want to scale up our PR activities considerably in the coming period. A unique opportunity to get off the starting blocks quickly and make an impact right away!

In short, in this position you will:

  • Work proactively and strategically with PR, media relations and coverage strategy for business units in the organization
  • Plan and organize the tactical PR activities, as well as discover new opportunities for PR activities in addition to uncover external relevant speaker opportunities
  • Align PR work with content marketing initiatives across different channels and create relevant local SEO/SEM optimized content (web/social media/blog)
  • Identify, build and work strategically with spokespersons in the organization 
  • Build and maintain good relationships with the media and serve as the primary media contact person in The Netherlands
  • Be responsible for external communication
  • Give input to internal communication when relevant

What do we ask from you?

  • A solid PR track record, preferably supplemented with your own media network
  • Experience within the IT sector is a plus, but not an absolute requirement.
  • You do however have a solid understanding of customers, employees and the business itself
  • A healthy level of ambition; if a lead role becomes available, you will go for it
  • You can convince everything and everyone thanks to a mix of factual knowledge and charm
  • You are looking for a role in which you can pioneer, a position where your bed has been made does not appeal to you
