About the job
Visma IT & Communications is looking for a passionate System Engineer for the Monitoring Squad.
You must have a drive to develop high quality processes that will run in an unusually complex technical environment. You will be a member of the IT Operations department, where your skills and contributions to manage our Monitoring area will be very visible. You must love to help team members and to receive help from them. The team is international so you will use English both written and orally. Master's or Bachelor's degree in related fields, preferably Computer Science area, with an overall minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Good understanding of monitoring concepts
Experience with monitoring tools in an international enterprise – preferably with thousands of users and devices in both public and private clouds.
Experience with Application Performance Management or other monitoring solutions such as System Center Operations Manager, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Icinga, New Relic, etc.
Good grasp of application development - an advantage
Strong scripting, automation and orchestration skills - an advantage
General knowledge of networking - an advantage
ITIL Foundation Certification - an advantage
Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies - an advantage
Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment methodologies - an advantage
In depth knowledge of processes, research and performance analysis capabilities
Negotiation capabilities and problem solving mindset
Understanding the IT Service industry as well as the relevant marketplace
Effectively cope with change; comfortably adjust to alterations in work activities; able to decide and act with limited information; effectively handle risk and uncertainty in ambiguous situations
Highly effective written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing effectively with a wide range of people
Fluency in Business English is required
Fast learner - research capabilities for obtaining required information.

Assist in rolling out Application Performance Management and System Center Operations Manager to teams in Visma.
Advise on monitoring configuration and application performance management implementation.
Day-to-day follow-up of customer support requests.
Establish and develop relationships with teams using the monitoring tools, be the proactive application performance and monitoring partner from our organisation.
Hold workshops, training sessions and technical demos on request.
Administration of our central monitoring solutions.
Communicate with external suppliers and vendors.
Give input in reviews of system or user documentation.
Be the “go-to-guy” in your field of operations.
Participate in internal and cross-divisional projects.
Contribute to and collaborate on internal routines and documentation.
Encourage adoption of new monitoring services from the service catalogue.
