In embarking on this journey, we start off by identifying the right Director to help IT Minds grow in what is expected to be one of the biggest markets for the company, namely Norway, where Visma has their headquarters.

The Oslo Director position

Being a Director at IT Minds means being in charge, making decisions and acting upon them! You will carry the full P&L responsibility and report to IT Minds’ CEO (a position which is successfully shared by IT Minds’ three Partners).

During a professional onboarding process, you will be introduced to everything from our long-term vision to best practices within recruitment, sales etc., after which you will develop a budget reflecting the plan you believe will bridge the overall five-year plan for IT Minds and the current state of the Oslo Department.

A typical week

The Oslo Department is still in its start-up phase but growing rapidly, which means the role will develop quickly, and that you should find both current and future states motivating. Your key-responsibility is to make sure supply and demand is constantly in balance - both now and in the foreseeable future. As a result, you will both have to  plan 1-2 years ahead but also be needed hands-on in the current sales and recruitments.


40% of your time will be commercially oriented. The Director role will always have a natural commercial focus. To begin with , you will work hands-on with sales. Later, you will spar with and coach your sales team, assist on bigger cases and balance demand with available consultants, ensure customer satisfaction, develop sales and customer strategies etc.

Leading / “Colleaguing”

15% of your time will be used on follow up on your consultants’ well being, making sure they thrive and develop, which is an important part of the job. This share of the job will increase as more colleagues come onboard. We expect to go from 10 to 20 consultants within the next 12 months.


30% of your time will be spent on recruitment. We are in the process of onboarding a new HR Consultant, which takes care of the majority of the recruitment, but recruitment still takes up a significant part of the role.20% recruiting and onboarding software developers. Even though we have an HR Consultant in place, it is your responsibility to ensure that we have sufficient resources to meet our budget, backed by our HR Manager. This means close sparring with the HR Consultant as well as participating in interviews.

  • 10% recruiting and onboarding an Account Manager, whose role will be to open new accounts and broaden the pipeline. The current big market demand makes this recruitment less urgent.



15% of your time will be spent on general administrative tasks, such as alignment of HR or Marketing initiatives on “group level” etc. In IT Minds we keep a constant focus on minimizing obstacles, yet carrying the overall responsibility for a growing subsidiary does not come without meetings and KPI-reporting.


In IT Minds, we believe that hard work and passion can make up for or sometimes even defeat experience. That being said, nonetheless, we imagine that you::

  • have at least 5 years of experience working within business development and/or management
  • have experience from sales in the IT industry. Perhaps, you are currently employed as a Sales Manager and want to take your managerial role to the next level

  • are self-driven and independent in your ability to structure and prioritize your assignments - although sparring is always possible with both of our other Directors, your managers and specialists from Visma, it is your responsibility that the department succeeds

  • are communicative and emphatic - you are the lighthouse of the department, who should both designate a direction, but also make sure no ships are lost at sea

  • are passionate about the role. Though it might be possible to handle the role through hard work and a bright mind, passion for our job is a key differentiator and is part of our uniqueness and unity and thus a key ingredient

  • hold the key to unlock new markets. You are responsible for the overall growth of IT Minds Oslo, and therefore it comes naturally to you to establish long-lasting connections and partnerships with customers and leaders in the industry

  • hold, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree within business and/or IT
