System Manager Data Protection

Visma IT is looking for a passionate System Manager for our Data Protection area. 

You must have the drive to develop high-quality processes that will run in an unusually complex technical environment. You will be a member of a highly-skilled infrastructure team, where your skills and contributions to manage our infrastructure, both in the datacenters and cloud, will be very visible. You must love to help team members and to receive help from them. The team is international so you will use English both written and orally. Your skills:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in related fields, preferably in the data protection/backup & restore/compute area, with an overall minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of data protection-related processes, research and performance analysis capabilities.
• Previous experience with tools like Rubrik, Veeam, IBM Cloud Object Storage System is a plus.
• Knowledge of infrastructure components such as virtualization, data storage system and networking.
• Negotiation capabilities and problem-solving mindset.
• Understanding the IT Service industry as well as the relevant marketplace.
• Effectively cope with change; comfortably adjust to alterations in work activities; able to decide and act with limited information; effectively handle risk and uncertainty in ambiguous situations.
• Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations.
• Highly effective written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing effectively with a wide range of people.
• Digital skills (i.e. Google for Work apps). 
• Fluency in Business English is required.
• Customer-oriented behavior.
• Fast learner - research capabilities for obtaining the required information.

Tasks:

• Works primarily with backup and restore tools in all our datacenters and in clouds but also interested and curious about other aspects of data protection.
• Effectively manage the performance and capacity of the backup and recovery platforms to meet or exceed business SLA’s.
• Creates standard reports and conducts daily Backup Management reviews such as reporting, monitoring, escalation and resolution processes in order to maintain overall operational effectiveness and to assess system performance metrics.
• Prioritizes and assigns the day-to-day work with the data protection systems.
• Actively contribute to further development of the Infrastructure in cooperation with the Line Manager and the Director of IT Delivery.
