What’s the job?

Visma IT & Communication is looking for a passionate, highly motivated Network Manager located in Oslo, Norway, to help maintain, scale and automate a complex network that covers several data centers and offices. 

You must have a drive to develop high quality processes that will run in an unusually complex technical environment. You will be a member of the Network Team, where your skills and contributions to manage our network will be very visible. You must love to help team members and to receive help from them. The team is international so you will use English both written and orally. Your skills:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in related fields, with an overall minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

• In depth knowledge of network design, technologies and new trends like software defined network and converged infrastructure

• Negotiation capabilities and problem solving mindset

• Understanding the IT Service industry as well as the relevant marketplace

• Effectively cope with change; comfortably adjust to alterations in work activities; able to decide and act with limited information; effectively handle risk and uncertainty in ambiguous situations

• Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem solving skills in a variety of situations

• Highly effective written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and experience dealing effectively with a wide range of people

• Fluency in Business English is required

• Customer oriented behaviour

• Fast learner - research capabilities for obtaining required information.

• Experience with Cisco and Palo Alto as an advantage

Tasks:

• Manage the Visma IT & Communications network related program/tools on an integrated platform, ensuring along the way all documentation necessary for conducting daily activities within Visma IT & Communications AS.

• Actively contribute to further development of the Network Area in cooperation with the Team Manager / Infrastructure Manager.

• As a technical manager within the Networking team you will be expected to drive operational excellence in everything we do. This includes creating sane processes, procedures and automation to improve efficiency in our day-to-day tasks and projects.

• Make plan for developing Visma IT network services, including recommending hardware and software acquisitions

• Work closely on supporting our customers and ensuring that we capture and meet SLA’s and agreed requirements

• Evaluate new features and related products closely connected to them.

• Establish and maintain backup and recovery policies and procedures.

• Maintain and enforce digital security within the network area

• Tuning and capacity management of network services

• Performing routine audits of systems and software.

• Produce periodic and accurate management reports.

• Third line incident management
